This year, as every year, the deadline to file a challenge with your county Board of Revision is March 31. However, this year, March 31 falls on a Saturday. Generally when a government filing deadline falls on a weekend, you are given until the following Monday. But that general rule does not apply this year. Hamilton County Auditor Dusty Rhodes has announced that he received a legal opinion that this year, March 31 truly is March 31.
You can file in person; by mail (postmarked by the postoffice, not a private postage machine, by March 31); and some counties allow fax or email filing.
Check the rules with your local Board of Revision and make sure your complaint is filed timely.
