Biography
Mike Weckenbrock, JD, ChFC®, CLU® is a licensed attorney and financial planner committed to helping individuals and businesses protect their assets and accumulate wealth. Mike’s practice primarily focuses on estate planning and business consulting. Mike brings a particularly unique background to the Finney Law Firm as he currently has a financial planning business with Premier Planning Group. This allows him to guide his clients across multiple disciplines and help them achieve their financial and legal objectives.
Mike is a lifelong Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati resident. Mike is a graduate of Covington Catholic High School, Centre College and the Salmon P. Chase College of Law. But what distinguishes Mike professionally is the combination of legal, financial, executive and regulatory experience he has developed over more than two decades.
Mike began his career in financial services before earning his law degree in 2008. Over the next decade at Ameritas Life, formerly Union Central Life, he served in a number of senior roles, including Attorney, Chief Compliance Officer, Vice President of Business Risk and Vice President of Retirement.
In 2018, Mike joined Horace Mann, a publicly traded financial services company, where he ultimately served as Senior Vice President and Executive of its Life & Retirement businesses. In that role, he led businesses spanning life insurance, annuities, investments and wealth management and also served as CEO of the company’s registered investment adviser and broker-dealer.
Today, Mike works directly with individuals, families and business owners helping clients coordinate asset protection strategies, estate planning, investment management, retirement planning, insurance, tax strategies and business-related decisions.
At the core of Mike’s life is connection and family—outside of the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, two daughters, Stassi and Ariana, and two dogs, Rosie and Luna. They all enjoy soccer, golf, boating, jeep rides and traveling (especially to Greece).
